Beware of Scammers

Beware of Scammers

Beware of scammers

Sadly, Internet scams are a very common thing. The possibility to stay anonymous leaves the door open to fraudsters. Unfortunately, this type of scams can be hardly reprimanded. Thankfully, potential scams are easy to spot. They are much easier to prevent than to seek justice.

Swapix tries to protect its users, however, it’s up to you to have a safe attitude. Here are some simple but helpful tips.

  • Do not accept the requests of prepayment. This scheme is mostly used by crooks, who ask you to pay in advance. Don’t send money to sellers you don’t know prior to receiving the goods you purchased. Don’t believe those who tell you that the item is located in another city, and will be shipped to you as soon as the money is received.
  • Don’t respond to people who claim to be from Swapix team and ask you to fill out a form with your personal data. Don’t believe such sellers. Swapix doesn’t employ such staff. Swapix sends nothing to its users and doesn’t ask for personal information.
  • Don’t respond to people who call themselves logistic managers from Swapix. They are impostors. Swapix is not involved in the delivery.
  • Be careful if you see a suspiciously low price for some items. Be particularly cautious when buying cars and electronics. A sensible seller will not try to sell a quality product at a low price. Most likely this “bargain” will have hidden defects or doesn’t exist altogether. You are being scammed.
  • If you are looking for a car, be sure to ask the seller all the registration papers and to specify the location of the vehicle.
  • If, nevertheless, you become a victim of scammers or notice suspicious ads, contact the support team immediately. Email us or click the Report button in the ad entry. We’ll take action — the seller will be blocked, and the ad removed.

Naturally, not all people are scammers. But being cautious is the attitude to have for both buyers and sellers. Be vigilant and sensible while using Swapix.
